Mathematics

I am a Plus Two Science student and wish to pursue higher studies in mathematics. Let me know about the courses and leading institutions that offer them and the mode of selection.

Mathematics is a good higher study option for those who have an aptitude for and interest in the subject. After Plus Two, seek admission to the research-oriented five-year integrated BS-MS or M.Sc. programme in mathematics or take up the three year B.Sc. course and further do M.Sc. and PhD. The BS-MS course and the four year BS (Bachelor of Science) programme are good options for higher study.

The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs); the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), and the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy (UM-DAE) Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences offer the integrated BS-MS programme. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Bangalore, and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) offer four year BS programmes in basic science disciplines, including mathematical sciences.
